Freedom of the Press
To the editors of The Jerusalem Post:
The Jerusalem Post, as well as the so-called National Camp newspapers, Hotsofeh and Makor Rishon, are excluding any news on the Hazit Yehudit Leumit party headed by Baruch Marzel.
In the past two weeks, Makor Rishon has published the profiles of Kadima members but none of Hazit.
Are these members of Kadima—an unelected party of questionable character—more noteworthy than Prof. Israel Hanukoglu, the no. 2 candidate on the Hazit list?
Is The Jerusalem Post, as well as Makor Rishon and Hatsofeh, ignorant of the fact that Prof. Honukoglu was not only the Science Adviser to Prime Minister Netanyahu, but also a former Chairman of Professors for a Strong Israel? And today he is in the forefront of building the College of Judea and Samaria into a university.
Is freedom of the press only for parties that advocate, or would join a government that advocates, territorial withdrawal—a policy that has resulted not only in 1,600 Jewish dead, 6,000 Jews wounded, 10,000 Jews dispossessed and deported, but also the ascendancy of Hamas?
