Urgent: An unsolicited message.

I have read scores of books on Islam, including several by Bernard Lewis, the dean of Islamic scholarship, but none has so deeply impressed me as Brigitte Gabriel’s They Must Be Stopped (September 2008). This gallant Lebanese-born and now American author and lecturer has an extraordinary mission: to save America and the cherished values of the Judeo-Christian tradition. You can help Brigitte in this mission by reading and promoting her book. Make sure your local bookstores have a goodly supply of this spellbinding book. Recommend it to your PTA and all other organizations to which you belong.

Accountability is a basic Jewish concept, awesome during Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur. Whereas the Torah Jew knows he is accountable to G-d, the Government of Israel is accountable to no one.

The leaders of this Government boast that Israel is a democracy. One should then expect them to be accountable to the people. But Israeli politicians are accountable to the people only on election day. Once elected they ignore the convictions of those who elected them. In the January 2003 elections, a large majority voted for parties that opposed Labor’s “unilateral disengagement” policy by giving those parties 84 (or 70% of the) seats in the Knesset. Yet, the following year, the same Knesset enacted Disengagement by a vote of 67 to 45!

To whom is a Prime Minister accountable? No one. It was Ariel Sharon that adopted Labor’s policy of disengagement law, thereby nullifying the 2003 election!

To whom is Supreme Court accountable? No one. The Court is also above the law. It makes its own laws in utter disregard of the ethics and legal heritage of the Jewish people. (more…)

Rok-19 is from Mars. He has been sent to the earth by the Martian Board of Celestial Inquiry. Alights in England day after the 7/7 Muslim terrorist attack in the London tubes. Wonders what this is all about. Goes to Oxford, its great library. Digests one book an hour on Islam: the Quran, Muhammad, the Hadith (Islamic tradition), Saladin, Khomeini, the Islamic Revolution, about the “Great Satan” (America) and the “Little Satan” (Israel).

Decides he must go the US, and Harvard library. Same stuff plus 9/11. Off to Israel and its National Library. Reads about formation of PLO in 1964 (about Arafat and the PLO Charter); about the Six Day War of 1967; about Israel’s policy of “land for peace” leading to the Oslo Agreement of 1993 and the Wye River Memorandum of 1998—and 10,000 resulting Jewish casualties, Reads about unilateral disengagement from Gaza in 2005 followed by rise of Iranian proxy Hamastan and 5,000 Arab missile attacks on Sderot.

Reads about the government’s policy of releasing Arab terrorists—7,000 since 1993, who go on to murder 300 more Jews; how the government arms and pays Arab terrorists and is anxious to withdraw from Judea and Samaria, including eastern Jerusalem. Reads how the policy of land for peace prompts willingness to withdraw from the strategic Golan Heights after 31 years of no conflict with Syria. Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin may lose the November election unless they speak like real mavericks and distinguish their political positions more sharply from those of their mediocre opponents. They are trailing in the polls for several reasons. The most decisive reason is their own mediocre performance. They are preoccupied too much with bread-and-butter issues on which they cannot score many points. Most significant, however, is their avoidance of the paramount issue confronting America, an issue that transcends the present economic crisis but which can arouse and inspire most Americans.

America is at war. To win this war we need to understand ourselves as well as the enemy. This is a two-fold task that McCain and Palin have failed to address in a serious way.

The enemy is not Islamic extremists that have hijacked Islam. Brave women such as Dr. Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Brigitte Gabriel, born and raised respectively in Syria, Somalia, and Lebanon, have shown that the enemy is simply Islam, a bellicose religion whose disciples have slaughtered 270 million “infidels” since the time of Muhammad.
