The well-known Israeli Attorney Elyakim Haetzni belatedly writes in The Jewish Press: “Today, like the air we breathe, we need an organized Jewish political force in the United States that, together with our non-Jewish friends in America and the Jewish nationalist camp in Israel, can breach the siege that is closing us off.” [“Where Is American Jewry?”, March 26, 2008].

For more than a decade I have been calling for the establishment of Jewish political force, i.e., an organization, in the United States with a parallel organization in Israel, to prevent Israel’s demise—this in the same Jewish Press for which I have written more than 1,000 articles since 1988. I have given said organization various names such as a “shadow government” and even “Israel’s Future Government-USA” (IFG-USA).” (more…)

What perpetuates the dysfunctional and treacherous government of Israel is its reputation as a democracy in the United States. The myth of Israeli democracy endows the government with legitimacy and its ruling elites—politicians, judges, academics, journalists—with respectability. Expose this myth in the U.S. and it will be immediately felt in Israel, especially among the elites. This is the most expeditious way of initiating basic institutional reform and regime change in Israel. For this, a well-financed and professional organization is needed in America, either in New York (perhaps better in Washington, D.C.) as well as a parallel organization in Israel.

Just returned from a US lecture tour. After a lively discussion at one of my talks, a member of the audience, I’ll call him “Mr. X,” engaged me in a remarkable conversation, one that has prompted me to formulate the following dialogue:

Mr. X: “Professor, I have read many of your articles, but you say nothing about American organizations that want to keep Israel weak by opposing any change in its impotent and unstable system of government.”

PE. “What organizations are you referring to?”

Mr. X. “Zionist organizations, whose leaders have a vested interest in keeping Israel weak—those who never call for basic reform of Israel’s decrepit system of government.” (more…)

An Open Letter to all Jewish Organizations that oppose the Saudi sponsored “two-state” solution to the conflict between the Jews of Israel and the Arabs now occupying Judea and Samaria—Jewish land misleadingly called the “West Bank.”

Please obtain membership lists of the organizations [listed in the article, 14 National Groups Endorse Two-State Solution] that support the Saudi Plan. Send them copies of Dr. Daniel Pipes’ article [see link below] and urge them to denounce and resign from the organizations that support that plan—a plan that cannot but lead to the demise of Israel.

JCPA Endorses Two-State Solution

The Jewish Council for Public Affairs endorsed for the first time a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

At its annual plenum Tuesday in Atlanta , the body, an umbrella organization representing 14 national Jewish groups and 125 local Jewish community relations councils, resolved that “the organized American Jewish community should affirm its support for two independent, democratic and economically viable states—the Jewish state of Israel and a state of Palestine—living side-by-side in peace and security.” (more…)

I am happy to endorse Dr. Carol’s message, indeed, year after year I have conveyed the same basic message to Jewish and Zionist organizations in America. Dr. Carol wants these organizations to not only to speak up and loudly denounce the Munich/appeasement policy of Israel’s government, but to withhold support for this government. He writes:

Our gallant and gifted political analyst, Caroline Glick, Deputy Managing editor of The Jerusalem Post, has called for a popular uprising against the Olmert government. Her December 8, 2006 article “Jews Wake Up!” focuses on the existential threat looming over Israel by Iran’s nuclear development, which may yield nuclear weapons as early as March 2007, four months away.

What is more, some experts say that Iran, given the increasing range of its missiles, may soon have the ability to nuke European and even American cities! Hence Glick is all the more dismayed by the statement of incoming Secretary of Defense Robert Gates that the U.S. cannot guarantee that Iran will not attack Israel with nuclear weapons. (more…)

CAMPAIGN LAUNCH: A Message From Friends of Gush Katif

More than ten months after their tragic expulsion from Gush Katif and northern Samaria, most of the expellees still have not received the compensation promised them by the Israeli Government. And, the major American Jewish organizations, as a whole, have ignored their plight and welfare. Since the organized Jewish community is not assisting these needy Jews financially, we as individuals must provide the necessary aid. To that end, and as announced yesterday on the ZOA Middle East Report radio program (available at www.zoaphilly.org), I hereby announce the email launch of the Friends of Gush Katif Jewish Refugee Fund, from which 100% of the dollars raised will go directly to the expellees, through the registered 501C(3) charitable fund, “Friends of Gush Katif.” (more…)

Watching the many standing ovations Ehud Olmert received when he addressed a joint session of the American Congress and spoke of his so-called Realignment Plan—which would dispossess and displace 50 to 100 thousand Jews in Judea and Samaria—it occurred to me that those standing ovations were living proof that American Zionist organizations have no significant impact on U.S. foreign policy regarding the Israel-Arab conflict.

The leaders of these Zionist organizations must surely realize that all their noble efforts have not diminished the American government’s commitment to a Palestinian state, hence, to a tortured future for the Jewish people. (more…)

“Are American Jews Disappearing?” is the lead article in a recent issue of the magazine New York. One could readily substitute “French” or “English” Jews in the title, for assimilation and intermarriage are widespread throughout the Diaspora. Prominent Jews were interviewed, but none seems to have explored the basic causes of Jewish assimilation in America.

Inasmuch as assimilation is most rampant among college graduates, the first basic cause should be obvious, namely, the doctrine of cultural relativism that has long dominated American education. Students immersed in the social sciences or in the humanities are taught that religion is not a matter of objective truth but of cultural conditioning or of personal preference. It follows that Judaism is no more valid than any another religion. Hence why be Jewish? (more…)
