Why has Prime Minister Ehud Olmert “suddenly” opened up backdoor channels to Syria offering to surrender the Golan Heights to that terrorist state?
The Bush administration let it be known, however, that it does not want Israel to negotiate with Syria. This is a cover-up.
On December 6, 2006, James Baker and Lee Hamilton released the “Iran Study Group Report” on what the U.S. should do to extricate itself from Iraq. Mr. Bush said it was “interesting,” that it would be seriously considered. This may very well mean that he would seriously consider sacrificing Israel in striking a deal with Syria and Iran to facilitate America’s departure from Iraq.
This will require Israel to surrender the Golan to Syria. But this is not all.
The Baker-Hamilton plan (consistent with the Saudi plan) also requires Israel to (1) yield Judea and Samaria to the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority; (2) allow Palestinian Arabs in Lebanon to return to Israel; and (3) retreat to the pre-1967 borders (hence to divide Jerusalem).
It thus appears that Mr. Bush is emulating Chamberlain and is using Ehud Olmert—who said Israel was tired of being courageous—to facilitate another Holocaust.
Yes, but this time the United States itself will be included in the killing fields.
