A Postscript to Two Recent Articles

In his February 15, 2007 Paper, “The Illusion of ‘Peace in Exchange for Territories,’” Dr. Mordechai Kedar of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies concludes: “The Arab demand for a return of all Palestinian refugees to pre-1967 Israel remains the core of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and this demand disguises Arab intentions to destroy Israel.”

Dr. Kedar’s conclusion substantiates two articles of mine: “The Futility of Negotiating with Muslims” and “Organized Lying,” both written earlier this month. Let me clarify what is at stake here.

As Dr. Kedar points out, “All Palestinian symbols and illustrations depict Palestine as the land from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River. These illustrations do not show the Palestinian state as Gaza and the West Bank.”

Now, what is known to Dr. Kedar (who served for twenty-five years in IDF Military Intelligence) is known to Israel’s political leaders. This being the case, two things follow: (1) the futility of negotiating with the Palestinians, and (2) the mendacity of Israel’s political leaders who would have us believe that negotiations can resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Dr. Kedar also shows that “Relations between Israel and its Palestinian and Arab neighbors”—he mentions Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt—”are not dominated by the issue of disputed territory, but by the alleged [Arab] right of return.”

But since this “right of return” is merely a façade for the Arab intention to destroy Israel—a façade known to Israel’s political leaders, we must conclude—as I have during the past three decades—that all their talk about peace is a tissue of lies designed to keep them in power!
