Hamas’ Covenant of Death

Now that President Shimon Peres, the erstwhile champion of PLO chief Yasser Arafat, has conveyed a willingness to negotiate with Hamas leader Ismail Haniya, let us review the Hamas Covenant of Death.

Officially known as “The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement,” the Covenant begins: “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it…” This document articulates the true nature of the war now being waged against Israel, and not only by the Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

The Covenant refers to these Arabs as but a single “squadron” of the “vast Islamic world.” “Our struggle against the Jews is very great,” and this struggle will go on “until the enemy is vanquished and Allah’s victory is realized.”

The Covenant also refers to the Islamic Resistance Movement as “one of the wings of [the] Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine.” It calls on all Muslims to “raise the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors, so that they would rid the land and the people of their uncleanness, vileness and evils.” Contrary to the puerilities of the media, the Muslim Brotherhood is not a fanatical sect of Islam; it is Islam pure and simple and, as ever, imperialistic.

“The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Islam over every inch of Palestine.” Yet Israel’s decadent elites would have us believe that these Muslims will renounce their religion—will forsake their Covenant with Allah—for the potage of peace. What an insult to Islam! Israel’s ruling elites, having no sense of national pride and purpose, let alone of world history, project their paltry and fleeting interests on Muslims who think in terms of Allah and eternity.

These Israeli “infidels” see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil of Arabs who baldly proclaim: “The Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realization of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet … has said: ‘The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight and kill the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’”

Unlike the popinjays of peace, who live only to be comfortable, Muslims regard “Death for the sake of Allah [as] the loftiest of wishes.” These successors of the Nazis are prepared to drench “Palestine” with blood. They are not about to be bought off with the bourgeois policy of “territory for peace.” For while Muslim Arabs have an abundance of territory of their own, such is their shortage of peace that they have almost none for each other, let alone for Israel.

The policy of territory for peace—the mindless fixation of Shimon Peres—arouses in Arabs a contempt for Jews. It makes Jewish blood cheap by making the Land of Israel cheap. This betrayal of the Jewish Covenant of Life has given rise to the Islamic Covenant of Death.

“The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for the future Muslim generations until Judgment Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered; it, or any part of it, should not be given up.”

With utter contempt for the Peresites, Hamas’ Covenant proclaims, “There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Pace initiatives and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

Israel’s secular elites lack the guts to face the religious and implacable nature of this Covenant: “The day the enemies usurp part of Muslim land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Muslim. It is [therefore] necessary to instill in the minds of the Muslim generations that the Palestinian problem is a religious problem, and should be dealt with on this basis.”

Hamas enjoins upon Muslims the following oath: “I swear by the holder of Mohammed’s soul that I would like to invade and be killed for the sake of Allah, then invade and be killed, and then invade again and be killed.”

Any politician who thinks that Hamas—or Fatah, for that matter—will abandon its genocidal intentions is not simply delusionary; his office and its perks are the reward of his intellectual and moral cowardice.

The Hamas Covenant of Death concludes by emphasizing Jihad as “the only way to liberate Palestine. There is no doubt about the testimony of history. It is one of the laws of the universe and one of the rules of existence. Nothing can overcome iron except iron.”

No Government of Israel has had the courage to destroy Hamas on the way to relegating Islam’s satanic Covenant of Death to oblivion. Nor will it until Israel embraces the Covenant of Life.
