The above title is identical to that used in an article written by Jerusalem Post analyst Caroline Glick on June 21, 2005, when Ariel Sharon was Israel’s prime minister. The title surely applies to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who told a New York audience “we are tired of being courageous”—this, on June 9, 2005, when he was Vice Prime Minister.
Olmert’s mindless self-incrimination reveals more than meets the eye. It means that he and his cowardly colleagues want to surrender to Arab terrorists—of course under the façade of seeking “peace.” The trouble is that unlike Israel’s ruling elites, Arabs are willing to fight and die—and go on fighting and dying—to achieve their ultimate objective—Israel’s annihilation.
This is the true story of Israel’s mendacious peace process. Very much the same story is leading to Islam’s conquest of Europe. Yes, and this Big Lie of the Middle East facilitates and hastens Islam’s proclaimed objective, the conquest of America.
There is not a single political leader in Israel, and not a single political leader in the United States, that has the courage to confront the truth about Islam’s relentless ambition to dominate the world. None dares reveal the bloody history of Islamic imperialism, which began with its prophet Mohammed in the seventh century, and which led to the slaughter of an estimated 240 million Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Buddhists, and Hindus.
Europe, thy name is cowardice. But what of America—the land of the free and the home of the brave? Have you too become tired of being courageous? And you Israel—have you become a black hole from which the light of freedom cannot stream forth?
If your prime minister is a coward, if he and his accomplices lack the courage to put an end to the murderous crimes perpetrated by Arabs against Israel, in particular the Jews of Sderot, and if he trembles in fear of a world that never denounces these crimes against humanity, then I say: “Rise up O Israel, rise up, and rid the Land of its cowardly government!
You need not need wallow in the subjectivism of Winograd Committee spokesman Professor Yehezkel Dror, an individual still committed—against all reason—to a 14-year peace process that has resulted in the murder and maiming of more than 10,000 Jewish women, men, and children—an academic whose moral obscurantism led him to say: “I cannot make up my mind whether Olmert should resign.”
You, O People of Israel, whose prophets gave mankind the Book of Truth—you, O Israel, you know the truth: Olmert and his entire government must go along with the death process called “peace.”
Yes, you worry about Olmert’s most likely successor, Benjamin Netanyahu, whose “profile in courage” is not exemplary. Nevertheless, O Israel, you should have the opportunity to rid your country of a spineless prime minister who is largely responsible for Israel’s fiasco in the Second Lebanon War and for the deadly trauma of Sderot.
Olmert must be punished for his failings by being removed from office; and it should be made crystal clear to Mr. Netanyahu, indeed, to the world at large, that the people of Israel will no longer tolerate a coward for prime minister.
